States Telephone and Telegraph Co), Staff Attorney, real property, 1977-1978; Denver Water Board Attorney 1969-1977, responsible for water rights protection and perfection, municipal finance matters, contracts, real estate, eminent domain, utility rate matters, personnel matters, mechanics liens and defense of negligence claims and has served as Gilpin County Attorney for more than 30 years.

FREDERICK A. FENDEL, III

MATTHEW S. POZNANOVIC

Admitted to the Colorado Bar in 1998. Education: University of Denver (B.A. 1994); University of Denver College of Law (J.D. 1998).

Matt developed his expertise in water law as a Colorado Assistant Attorney General in the Natural Resources and Environment Section before joining Petrock & Fendel, P.C.

With over 15 years of legal experience in water law, Matt represents public and private water users in Colorado water court, administrative proceedings before the Colorado Ground Water Commission and appellate practice before the Colorado Supreme Court. Matt also assists clients with water related transactions, including negotiating water rights purchases, easements and license agreements.

BRADFORD R. BENNING

Associate

Brad is a fourth generation Colorado native and was admitted to the Colorado bar in 2000. Brad represents both governmental and private clients in litigation and transactional matters. He has achieved victories for clients in the Colorado Supreme Court, United States Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, United States District Court for Colorado, and district courts throughout Colorado including water courts in Water Divisions 1, 2 ,3 and 4. He also assists clients with multimillion dollar water rights transactions, including negotiations, diligence, and closing. Brad teaches on the continuing legal education circuit on water rights and other matters and is always happy to offer his experience and time to do so.

GARY J. CROSBY

Paralegal

Paralegal with 30 years experience in water rights adjudications and related issues. Graduated from Kent State University in 1982 with B.S. in education. Completed paralegal training from Denver Paralegal Institute in 1984. Gary worked for Transamerica Title Company for over a year chaining title for large land parcels, and subsequently worked in the water rights area for Saunder, Synder, Ross & Dickson, P.C., from 1985 through 1993, and Holly I. Holder, P.C. from 1993 through 2002. Gary began work for Petrock & Fendel, P.C. in August, 2002. Gary is experienced in water rights issues and specializes in Denver Basin groundwater rights along the front range, including water court adjudications for vacant land and subdivisions, well permitting, water planning, and title review.
